Stationery questions, answered

Envelope names are trade sizes, and each one is cut to take a specific card. The two that cover most orders are A2 and A7 — an A2 takes a 5.5" × 8.5" greeting card once it is folded, and an A7 takes a flat 5" × 7" invitation. For anything on letter paper, a #10 takes an 8.5" × 11" sheet folded in three.

  • A2 (4.375" × 5.75") — folded 5.5" × 8.5" cards, RSVP cards
  • A7 (5.25" × 7.25") — 5" × 7" invitations and announcements
  • #10 (4.125" × 9.5") — letters, invoices, letterheads folded in three
  • #9 (3.875" × 8.875") — reply envelope, fits inside a #10

Uncoated stock takes ink from a pen or a laser printer; coated stock resists it and will smudge. Letterheads, notepads and NCR forms are uncoated for exactly that reason. On cards you have the choice — pick an uncoated or linen finish if guests will hand-write a message, and a gloss or silk finish if the design is doing the talking.

It varies by line, because what makes sense to set up on press varies. Nothing here needs a thousand-piece commitment.

  • Carbonless (NCR) forms from 2 books
  • Presentation folders from 10
  • Greeting cards, envelopes and calendars from 25
  • Letterheads from 50, notepads from 50
  • Event tickets and announcement cards from 100

Production speed is chosen when you order and shown before you pay. Most stationery runs on a standard 4-business-day press; rush tiers are offered where the stock and finish allow it.

  • Same Business Day and Next Day Express on selected lines
  • Next Business Day and 2 Day widely available
  • 4, 7 and 9 Business Days on foil, laminated and bound work

Paper that copies itself. Write on the top sheet and the pressure transfers your writing to the sheets beneath, so you keep a copy and the customer takes one — no carbon paper involved. 2-part gives you two copies, 3-part gives three. Loose sets are for filing; wraparound books are bound with a cover so you can work off a pad in the field.

Yes. Every folded card is scored on press before it ships, so it folds cleanly along the crease instead of cracking the ink. The size shown is the flat sheet — a 5.5" × 8.5" card folds down to 4.25" × 5.5", which is the A2 envelope above.

A print-ready PDF. Set it to the flat size — the unfolded sheet for folded cards — with a quarter-inch of bleed on every edge, and keep text a safe distance inside the trim.

  • PDF preferred; high-resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF accepted
  • CMYK colour, 300 DPI at final size
  • Keep text 0.125" inside the trim, and clear of folds and perforations
